When is Thiotex® Capsule prescribed for?
Thiotex® Capsule is prescribed for:

  • Diabetic Neuropathy & other types of Neuropathy:
    - Acting as a potent antioxidant.
  • Cataracts:
    - Inhibits aldose reductase activity in the rat lens; and, in further animal studies, was found to inhibit cataract formation experimentally induced by buthionine sulfoxamine.

How should you take Thiotex® Capsule?
• Dosage of Thiotex 300 mg is:
- 300 mg to be taken once or twice /day orally.
•Recommended therapeutic dosage of Thiotex Forte 600 mg is:
- 1800 mg/day (3 capsules x 600 mg) for the 1st 3 weeks, then 600 mg once/day taken orally..

Possible Drug interaction with Thiotex® Capsule:
The Dose must be adjusted in diabetic patients as Thioctic Acid may decrease blood sugar levels of glucose and has an additive effect to insulin and other hypoglycemic medications.

Special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding:
There have not been sufficient studies to guarantee safety for its use in pregnancy.

Possible side effect of Thiotex® Capsule:

 Alpha Lipoic acid appears to be safe in the dosages generally prescribed clinically.
